If the movie is successful enough, a further manga or even simple one-shots could expand on what was already shown about the story and its world. At the same time, the manga's story doesn't necessarily have to end where it concluded years ago. The Sand Land movie is sure to adapt the entirety of the manga, especially given how short it was. Given the pedigree of talent behind the series and the unexplored territory of the story, there's a lot more than can still be done with the world of Sand Land. It's only now gaining more mainstream attention due to its upcoming movie adaptation, which is releasing decades after the manga was released.
